The short answer

Cisco Umbrella is cloud-delivered security that stops people and devices connecting to dangerous places on the internet. Because it works at the DNS layer, it blocks threats before a connection is made, across every port and protocol that uses DNS.

What Cisco Umbrella is used for

  • Blocking malware, ransomware command-and-control, phishing and cryptomining domains
  • Web content filtering by category, for acceptable use
  • Protecting laptops off the network through the roaming module
  • Visibility of which cloud apps are in use
  • With SIG packages, full secure web gateway, CASB and cloud firewall

How it is deployed

Point your network's DNS to Umbrella, or connect sites with IPsec tunnels for SIG. Deploy the roaming module to laptops. Cisco Meraki and other firewalls integrate natively. Most organisations can be protected in days.
